Plot Summary
Nesippaya (translating to “Will you love me?”) follows Arjun Vishwanathan (Akash Murali), a college student who falls in love with Diya Ramalingam (Aditi Shankar) in 2016. Their romance falters when Diya moves to Portugal for a job, seeking space, but a tragic murder reunites them years later. Driven by love, Arjun defies odds to uncover the truth behind Diya’s fate. Spanning 2 hours and 30 minutes, the film blends romance, action, and suspense, with a backdrop partly shot in foreign locations. Reviews are mixed—IMDb rates it 6.5/10, with praise for Kalki Koechlin’s presence but criticism for weak writing and predictability from The Indian Express (2.5/5) and India Today (2/5).
Cast Details
Akash Murali makes a strong debut as Arjun, earning applause for his emotional depth, while Aditi Shankar improves her acting as Diya. Kalki Koechlin stands out in a supporting role, adding a refreshing touch. R. Sarathkumar and Prabhu lend gravitas, though the ensemble’s efforts are hampered by a disjointed script. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music, including hits like “Tholanja Manasu,” enhances the mood, though some feel the action choreography falls short.
